The Charlotte Adult Learning Center is hosting spring tutor training. Below are the dates:
Friday, March 27 at CALC 6-7 pm Orientation
Saturday, March 28 at CALC 9am-1pm (Light snacks)
Saturday, April 11 at CALC 9am-1pm (Light snacks)
Saturday, April 18 Special Writing Workshop at SVCC Keysville 10am-3pm (hour lunch break)
Volunteers will be trained in:
the teaching and motivating of adults
a variety of basic literacy instructing strategies
some basic math strategies including using manipulatives
some ESL strategies
All attendees will be certified with ProLiteracy upon completing all 12 hours. Becoming a tutor will enable you to make a profound difference in a person’s life. Please call434-542-5782 to register.
