Literacy volunteers are trained by a ProLiteracy tutor trainer at locations throughout Southside. See our BLOG for dates of upcoming training. Speak to a program manager at your local PARTNER organization to find out the number of hours required for the initial training. All volunteers are supported with professional development opportunities throughout the year, such as the Virginia Literacy Leadership Conference, the Virginia Literacy Fair, and tutor exchanges.

Then call your local PARTNER to take a tour of a tutoring center and sign up for an orientation. Soon you will be making a difference in a person’s life that will not be soon forgotten.
